ABOUT US
Both coming from the corporate world, longing to scratch the creative itch that gets lost in the everyday, we decided to do what we’d always dreamed of; create a slow accessories and homeware brand. After living together in the beautiful city of Sheffield, we were consistently inspired by the city, the nature and the creativity. Most evenings we would crochet, paint, draw and after regularly visiting makers markets across the city we realised that we wanted to be a part of that. After plenty of late night discussions, lots of trial and error, Honky Cat Studio was born. What started as a bit of a side hobby has become our lives. Both drawn to folklore, mythology and second hand, we create timeless pieces with a vintage & modern folk spirit.
Each piece is hand crafted in the heart of Sheffield.

After graduating in Fashion Design, I began my career in accessories design, within fast fashion. Quickly realising I didn’t want to progress within this sector due to the environmental impact, I shifted my career early on to Graphic Design. During the pandemic I was clueless as to what to do and so I created a fully printed clothing collection. I loved it and I still do! From here on I knew I wanted to create a brand someday. Combining my industry experiences, I have garnered a love for pattern design, slow-fashion and branding. At Honky Cat I take care of the pattern & print design, sewing and graphics. Every print is hand crafted by me and sewn with love in Sheffield.

Throughout education, the only subject I truly enjoyed and got a good grade in was Fine Art. I then studied a multi disciplinary art course at college, and I had so much fun spending 2 years exploring many different mediums and techniques. From metal work, woodwork and clay, to textiles, photography and fine art. Being tactile in my approach to creating has been imperative to my journey in Honky Cat. I create hand painted clay jewellery and punch needle & crochet garments at Honky Cat.
